The Consulate General was established with the main aim of facilitating Trade and Investment between Malawi and Mozambique as well as other SADC countries. The Consulate General’s work is much broader and covers Consular matters such as Immigration, including issuance of visas, protection of Malawian Nationals in various destitute situations, certification of official documents like National Identity Cards, Passports, Drivers Licenses, repatriation of the departed, and diaspora engagement among others which have not been discovered yet.
